Long Eaton Operatic Society (LEOS) was formed in 1955 when several former students of Long Eaton High Street School decided to form an amateur operatic society.
They were joined by many other interested individuals to put on their first show, The Mikado, in 1957.
Since 1969 our shows have been performed at May Hall, Trent College, and we perform a show every 6 months.
Initially, Gilbert and Sullivan operettas were chosen, but as the genre of musical theatre has changed, so have the show choices of LEOS, leading to us changing our name from Long Eaton Operatic Society to LEOS Musical Theatre Company.
In 2025, we celebrated our 70th anniversary! We also began moving into the Duchess Theatre, Chatsworth Arts Centre - the home of so many of Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire's amdram societies.
